Vincent Grimaldi’s "Amorce De Champ" is a sonic exploration of studio and field recording. Driven by a particular focus on the technical modalities of sound recording and reproduction, the work delves into recurring motifs across various electroacoustic setups: exaggerated artefacts of analog media, reel-to-reel manipulations, "hors-champ" studio takes, reverberant spaces, feedback, fidelity, phonography, and cut-ups from dusty sound effects records. Sounds are either reworked using analog tape techniques, or assembled as a raw collage, prompting listeners to examine timbre and sonic contrasts.

Vincent Grimaldi is a Lausanne-based sound artist. His work centers on musique concrète empiricism and craftmanship. His practice involves field recording, reel-to-reel tape recorders, analog modular synthesizers and various electroacoustic setups in the studio. He is interested in the material conditions of sound recording.
